What to include in “technician cost”
The calculator uses one monthly figure per technician. Use the fully loaded cost, not just salary:
- SalaryBase pay for an L1 technician in your area.
- Payroll taxes and benefitsEmployer taxes, health insurance and retirement contributions.
- Tools and licencesPSA and RMM seats, laptop, phone and training per technician.
- Cover and overtimeOn-call pay, overtime and cover for leave or vacancies.
- RecruitingTime to hire and any agency fees, spread over the expected tenure.
- Management timeHours your senior engineers spend supervising and reviewing.
How the calculation works
Technicians needed = endpoints ÷ endpoints per technician, rounded up. Local cost = technicians × monthly cost. White-label cost = endpoints × price per endpoint. The difference is your monthly saving or extra cost.
The defaults are examples, not quotes. Our published help desk price is $12 per endpoint per month, with a $1,500 monthly minimum across services. See how white-label pricing works.
Questions
What endpoints-per-technician ratio should I use?
Use your own: divide the endpoints you manage by the L1 technicians you employ today. If you have no L1 team yet, try a few values to see how sensitive the result is.
Does the white-label figure include after-hours?
Only if you enter the bundled price. Help desk is $12; help desk with 24/7 cover is $16 per endpoint per month.
Is anything not covered by the calculator?
On-site visits, projects and L2 hours are separate. Projects start at $1,500 fixed scope, and L2 is $45 per hour.
